I'm Anto, and I have always had a curiosity and fascination with words.
I am a broadcast journalist by trade, with a decade of experience in the radio industry as a newsreader and presenter. I have also voiced station promos as well as radio ads for charities and non-profits.
In my young life I moved around a lot. I was born in the West of Ireland, in Galway but spent my formative years in Ayrshire, Scotland. At the age of seven, my family relocated back to Galway (where I was the Scottish kid in class) before finally settling in Waterford in the Sunny South East of the country.
Upon locating to Waterford, I was forced to endure elocution lessons which were resisted at first, but which would go on to inspire a love of the written and spoken word. I was able to achieve a Gold Medal with Distinction in my early teens from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts.
I also moonlight as a Rockstar on occasion and have fronted bands since my youth. Sadly none made Wembley. Throughout this long shadow career in music I have developed the ability to play things by ear.
Being exposed to numerous accents in my youth, coupled with voice training, neutralized mine but allowed me to develop an ear for and an appreciation for accents, regional and international.
I’m currently passing lockdown freelancing in radio and getting through audiobooks and podcasts.
