In 1990, he entered the television world as a camera assistant and cameraman for foreign television channels in Turkey and the Middle East. Between 1992-2006, he continued his professional life in Washington, the capital of the United States. From 2002-2005, he worked at Voice of America Radio and Television Turkish (VoA) service in Washington as a reporter, anchor, news voice-over artist, and editor. He returned to Turkey in 2006, and in 2007 began presenting news programs on television channels. Among his notable reports in television journalism, he is remembered as the first journalist to announce to the world the news of terrorist organization PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan's capture and transfer to Turkey, and for reaching the region approximately two hours after the tremor of the August 17, 1999 Marmara Earthquake and broadcasting live to world television one of the 20th century's greatest natural disasters. Also among his historically significant reports is his 1992 revelation that Iraqi Kurdish leaders Celâl Talabânî and Mesut Barzânî were given Turkish diplomatic passports on the orders of then-President Turgut Özal. He witnessed the 1991 Gulf War and the 2003 invasion of Iraq by U.S.-led international forces from within Iraq. He was among the first journalists to interview General Pervez Müşerref, who seized power through a coup in Pakistan. Throughout his professional career, he has reported on historic events including coups, wars, migrations, earthquakes, and numerous international agreements in dozens of countries, among them Afghanistan, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Armenia, Ethiopia, Iraq, Iran, Kosovo, Syria, and Pakistan. He has been honored by many professional organizations as journalist and anchor of the year. He teaches Television Journalism and Anchoring courses at universities. He is the author of the book "Kod Adı: Sapkın," which exposed Adnan Oktar and his criminal organization, for which Oktar was sentenced to life imprisonment.
