I was born on February 19, 1984 in Keşan/Edirne<br /> I came to Istanbul for my secondary education as a boarding student and never left :) I work in the Human Resources department of a corporate company. I received my voice-over training at Dialog academy.

I began my professional career in 1992 as a reporter in Eastern Anatolia for Kanal 6 and the Interpress magazine group. Later, I moved to Istanbul and became part of the founding team of a national TV channel's news center. Through training I received there from TRT-trained instructors, I had the opportunity to develop myself in news anchoring and voice over work. This is how I took my first step into the voice over profession. I worked as an anchor and voice over artist at various national channels. Subsequently, following an offer from Power Group, I served as "Editor/Anchor" and "Corporate Voice" for Power Fm, Power Türk, and PowerXL radio stations belonging to this group. I began working as an "Anchor" during the establishment phase of TGRT Haber TV, where I successfully delivered 3-hour non-stop active news marathons in the "Rolling News" format, a first in Turkey. Following the acquisition of TGRT, the main channel, by American media giant News Corp., I transferred internally to this channel where I presented the main news and midday bulletins, as well as serving as "Voice Over." I then continued my profession as main news anchor and moderator at TVNET and 24 Haber channels respectively. I am currently working as a news anchor at CNNTürk. I have been practicing my craft for 29 years and continue my voice over work.

"A vocal chameleon" is what a lot of people have described him as. He began his career in New Zealand in 2002 when he became breakfast anchor at the age of 19. Because of his multifaceted voice he worked for a number of radio stations within the now NZME and Mediaworks. During this time he honed his craft and voiced numerous commercials, teasers and stings while fronting some big ticket festivals. He gained knowledge in sound design and audio editing during his radio years enabling him to not just voice but produce and edit a wide range of high quality projects. Wanting to explore not just sound but visuals he completed his Bachelor in Broadcasting Communication in 2008. He worked as a sound assistant at CTV (a local Television station) and later as a production hand in various areas including camera, editing, presenting and voice overs, becoming CTV's station voice till his OE in 2010. Having a natural knack for audio, editing and voice and further honing his craft he started working on more personal projects including online training video's for Pulse Telecom as well as orientation and promotional video's for Annies Fruit Leather (now Kono) and the NMDHB (Nelson/Marlborough District Health Board) . His talent was snapped up by USA's Blue Sky production as the character voice of Nigel (the white Cockatoo and main antagonist) for the online video game, Rio Match 3 in 2015. He has lent his voice to numerous projects (in his native German language and English) national and international, continuing his passion with great skill and enthusiasm. His dynamic well rounded voice is ideal for almost any project, large or small. He embraces every challenge that is thrown at him. Be it for a commercial, promotion, multimedia project, narration or a particular character voice. Dimitris was the best choice Santa Monica Studios could have made on behalf of Sony, when the company decided to translate one of its most popular PS4 video games into Greek. And so Kratos spoke Greek for the first time with Dimitris Chavres' epic voice, earning him high praise from both Sony and the Greek gaming community. Dimitris' voice is versatile. It can be awe-inspiring, like when he recites the nostalgic poem Ithaka, by Kavafis both in Greek and English. His timbre has the power to make a place come to life, like he did with Crete while talking about the Greek coffee Loumidis. It can be serious and professional like in the TV spot for Creta Farm and the radio campaigns by Avin, Axa, Makro etc. And then come the many animated characters he has brought to life, that make his daughter Elisavet proud. Drawing from his passion for acting, Dimitris thrives in taking up different roles and personalities. He can easily turn from a happy guy who just bought his new IKEA bookshelves, to a spooky narrator in interactive fantasy books, to an instructor in YouTube videos and so many more.
