User guide
Pricing for artists
The “Pricing & Features” page in your dashboard decides how clients can order from you and what they pay with Quick Order. This guide walks through every section of the page in order.
Set up your prices correctly once, and clients see the price as soon as they paste their script and can order right away. For jobs you choose to handle by quote, you set the price yourself.
- 1
Open the page and save
In the left menu of your dashboard, click “Pricing & Features” under Finance. The page is made of collapsible sections; click a section's heading to open it.
- You enter prices in USD; clients see them in their own currency.
- Each section has a “Save” button at the bottom; whichever one you press, all settings on the page are saved together. There is no auto-save.
- After saving, the button briefly turns green and shows “Saved”.
- 2
Choose your order methods
In the “Order Methods” section you switch on or off the ways clients can reach you:
- Quick Order: the client sees the price instantly and pays right away. If you turn it off, your prices aren't shown, you work by quote only, and the other pricing sections on the page are hidden.
- Offer-Based: clients can request a custom offer from you.
- Auto-Offer: available when both Quick Order and Offer-Based are on. If you don't answer an offer request that includes a script within 30 minutes, the system sends a price on your behalf: your calculated price minus the discount you set (default 10%, at most 50%).
- Chat: clients can send you messages.
- 3
Fill in the pricing tiers
In the “Pricing Tiers” table you enter a price and a delivery time for 5, 50, 500, 2,500, 5,000, 10,000, 25,000 and 50,000 words.
- Each tier has a minimum (e.g. $5 for 5 words, $30 for 500 words, $800 for 50,000 words). A lower price won't be saved; you can also leave a tier empty.
- Delivery time is entered in hours (defaults range from 24 to 480 hours).
- For scripts between two tiers, price and delivery time are calculated proportionally; above the largest tier, that tier's per-word price applies.
- The price of the smallest tier is your minimum order: shorter scripts are charged that price too.
- For each tier the table shows the per-word price, the platform commission and your earning.
- 4
Request quotes for long scripts
If you want to discuss the price of very long jobs yourself, turn on “Request a quote above a certain word count”.
- When you turn it on, the limit defaults to 50,000 words; you can set any number you like.
- For scripts above the limit, the client sees no price and requests a quote from you.
- Tiers above the limit are hidden from the table.
- 5
Set your media usage rights
In the “Media Usage Rights” section you enter an extra charge, as a percentage, depending on where the recording will be published. Personal use is the base price; the others are added on top of it.
- Defaults: Local +35%, National +50%, International +100%, All Rights +200% (you can enter 0 to 500%).
- Example: with a base price of $100 and National at +50%, the client pays $150.
- If you tick “Quote Only” for a media type, Quick Order is closed for it; the client requests a quote from you instead.
- 6
Set revisions and extra services
In “Free Revisions” you choose how many free reading revisions you give with Quick Order (0–10, default 1). In “Extra Services” you switch on the services clients can add to an order and enter their charge as a percentage.
- Defaults: Synchronization 50%, Alternative Reading 50%, Audio Splitting 30%, Text Redaction 30%, Additional Revision 50%.
- Extra services are charged on the base price, before the media charge is added.
- A service you switch off isn't offered to clients. The client chooses how many alternative readings and additional revisions they want; the charge is multiplied by that number.
- Text revisions don't depend on this setting: they always cost 50% of the project price.
- 7
Enter your retainer capacity
The “Max retainers at the same time” field below the “Pricing Tiers” section limits how many fixed-price monthly retainers you can run at once.
- Enter a number from 1 to 50; leave it empty for unlimited.
- Active, paused and notice-given retainers count toward your capacity.
- While your capacity is full, clients can't send you a new retainer offer.
- 8
Check with the price simulator
In the “Price Simulator” at the end of the page you pick a word count, media usage and extra services and see what the client would pay, the commission and your earning.
- The simulator doesn't save anything; it only shows the calculation.
- If Quick Order is on and no tier has a price, Quick Order is disabled and your profile is unpublished. Once you enter prices and save, your profile is published again (if it's approved and complete).
Example
An artist who entered $60 for 500 words and $200 for 2,500 words; a client places a Quick Order for a 1,000-word national broadcast job with synchronization:
- Base price (proportional between 500 and 2,500 words)
- $95
- National broadcast (+50%)
- $47.50
- Synchronization (50% of the base price)
- $47.50
- Client pays
- $190
- Your earning (after 35% commission)
- $123.50
The page calculates with the default 35% commission; if a custom commission rate has been set for you, your earning is calculated with that rate.
Frequently asked questions
Which currency do I enter prices in?+
You enter them in USD. Clients see the price in the currency they choose; payments from Turkey are charged in TRY, and your earnings reach your wallet in USD.
What happens if I turn off Quick Order?+
No prices are shown on your profile and clients can only reach you with offer requests. You set the price for each job.
How is a script between two tiers priced?+
The price is calculated proportionally between the two tiers. For example, if 500 words is $60 and 2,500 words is $200, 1,000 words comes to $95.
Can I leave a tier empty?+
Yes. An empty tier is skipped and the price is calculated from your filled tiers. But a price you enter can't be below that tier's minimum.
Why aren't extra services based on the media charge?+
Extra services belong to the work itself, so they are calculated on the base price; the media charge only prices the usage rights.
Does auto-offer sell below my price?+
Only by the discount you set. If you don't answer a request with a script within 30 minutes, an offer is sent at your calculated Quick Order price minus that discount. It is off by default.
Are these prices binding for jobs I quote?+
No. In an offer you set the price; your Quick Order price only appears in the form as a suggestion.
Why was my profile unpublished?+
If Quick Order is on and no tier has a price, the profile is hidden. Enter your prices and save; approved and complete profiles are published again.
