Bulk projects

For multi-episode work such as a series, a training course, a podcast or regular ads, you agree a fixed per-episode price with an artist; you create episodes as you need them and pay only for the episodes you create.

A bulk project is the easiest way to get several episodes from the same artist at the same price. The price is agreed once; you don't negotiate again for each episode.

  1. 1

    What is a bulk project?

You agree with the artist on the number of episodes, the price per episode and a validity period. Nothing is charged when the agreement is accepted; each time you create an episode you pay only for that episode.

    • The episode price stays fixed for the whole agreement.
    • You can create episodes at any time within the validity period.
    • Episodes you never create cost nothing.
  2. 2

    Send an offer

On the artist's profile, click “Custom Offer Request” and choose “Bulk Project” as the project type, or pick “Bulk (multi-episode)” in the chat's “Send Offer” window. In the form you fill in:

    • Project name, media usage and a description of the project (episode length, tone, delivery expectations).
    • Number of episodes.
    • Your proposed budget per episode.
    • Validity period (in months): how long the offer and the episodes remain valid.
  3. 3

    Negotiate and accept

When the artist prices the offer, you see it on your My Offers page. You can accept, make a counter-offer or decline. When you accept, the bulk project agreement is created and appears on your Bulk Projects page; nothing is charged at this point.

  4. 4

Create and pay for an episode

Open the project on your Bulk Projects page and click “Create Episode”. Enter the episode title, description and script, then click “Create & Pay”.

    • Payment is taken from your wallet (including your open-account limit) or from a saved or new card.
    • The amount is the agreed episode price; it does not change with script length, so state the episode length clearly in your offer.
    • The project page shows how many episodes you've used and the time left (e.g. Episode 3/10).
  5. 5

    Episode workflow and revisions

Each episode works like a normal project: the artist accepts, delivers the audio, and you approve it or request a revision.

    • A reading revision is covered by the episode's free revisions; once they're used up it is paid.
    • A script change is always paid: 50% of the episode price.
    • An approved episode is completed; when all episodes are used, the bulk project becomes “Completed”.
  6. 6

    Validity period

When the validity period ends, the project becomes “Expired” and no new episodes can be created. Unused episodes are not charged; episodes already created are completed as usual.

    • The time left is shown on the project card.
    • If you need more time, send the same artist a new bulk offer.
  7. 7

    Stopping the project

You can stop a bulk project unilaterally at any time: click “Stop project” on the project page, choose a reason and optionally add a note.

    • Your reason is sent to the artist by notification and email.
    • Episodes that are paid but not completed are cancelled and refunded.
    • Completed episodes are not affected.

Example

A bulk project with 10 episodes at $50 each, valid for 2 months:

Total agreement value (10 × $50)
$500
Paid on acceptance
$0
Paid if the client creates 6 episodes
$300
Paid revision (50% of the episode price)
$25
Artist's net per episode (35% commission)
$32.50

The commission rate can differ by artist.

Frequently asked questions

How is a bulk project different from a monthly retainer?+

In a bulk project you pay per episode and only for the episodes you create. In a monthly retainer a fixed fee is paid every month, even if no jobs are opened that month.

Do I pay the full amount upfront?+

No. Nothing is charged when you accept the offer; you pay for each episode when you create it.

What if I don't use all the episodes?+

Unused episodes cost nothing. The project closes when the validity period ends.

Does the episode price change with script length?+

No, the agreed episode price is fixed. That's why it's important to state the episode length clearly in the offer description.

What happens when the period ends?+

No new episodes can be created; episodes already created are completed. To continue, send the same artist a new bulk offer.

If I stop the project, what happens to my money?+

Episodes that are paid but not completed are cancelled and refunded. Completed episodes are not refunded.

What if the artist withdraws?+

The withdrawal request is reviewed by the team. If approved, the project closes and the price of unfinished episodes is refunded to you.
